In February 2026, following a meeting at the Malawi High Commission in London, boNGO met with visiting representatives from the Malawi Government Ministry of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare (MoGCDSW), and the Deputy High Commissioner Justice Thokozani Agnes Patemba.
Talks centered around early childcare development in Malawi and how boNGO Worldwide can help support The Ministry’s newly launched policies on developing transformative educational outcomes in early education.
Representing boNGO were Tereza Mirovicova, co-founder and Managing Director and Richard Cogan, Strategy and Proposals Coordinator (pictured). The meeting began with Esmie Kainja, Secretary of the MoGCDSW delivering an official introduction speech on the current early educational landscape. Discussions developed on boNGO’s community based childcare centres and how the conceptualisation of the teaching materials and teacher training can be adopted and scaled regionally and across Malawi.
This is a very positive development for boNGO however the day to day funding of the running of our five rural childcare centres, the teachers and a daily meal for the children, remains our top priority. If you are a company or an individual able to make a contribution we would love to hear from you.
